Jade is a native Texan who found herself inspired by the “daymaker” philosophy in her past life as a cosmetologist. The simple concept of changing the world by making one person’s day, every day, resonated with her and inspired her to pursue a BA in Psychology and MS in Social Work at the University of Texas in Austin. During her graduate program, she discovered a passion for helping to facilitate change in the lives of adults dealing with mental health and/or substance use issues. Jade has spent the past 7 yrs. gaining experience with this population by working with individuals, families, and groups at both outpatient and inpatient levels of care in the Austin, TX area.
Jade has the utmost respect for people who are ready to take the chance on making real positive change in their lives. She believes that her clients already have all the answers, wisdom, and capacity for change within themselves, and her role is to help them access those resources. In so doing, change is a collaborative process that addresses clients’ specifics needs and goals. Jade uses a variety of modalities in her practice, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness based therapies, and other Self-Compassion based therapies. Jade has knowledge of 12-step and other sober support programs (SMART Recovery, LifeRing Secular Recovery, Refuge Recovery, etc.) and works collaboratively with sponsors/coaches and other providers to get the maximum benefit for her clients.
