Elizabeth Mabonga, MA, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Elizabeth was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and she grew up in Nigeria. She is from multi-racial, multi-cultural family and has done a lot of international travel so she has an appreciation for diversity. Elizabeth got her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Benue State University, Nigeria in 2008 and her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2014. Elizabeth loves to cook, races sailboats for fun and enjoys reading memoirs. She has experience working with juveniles, adults in corrections, severe mental illnesses and individuals adjusting to life transitions.
Elizabeth believes that variety is the spice of life so living a happy, fulfilled life means different things to different people. She uses an eclectic mix of therapeutic approaches with a preference for Solution-Focused Therapy to meet people where they are in life, and equip them with skills to get to where they want to be. As much as Elizabeth loves to help people find emotional and mental wellness, she hopes to work herself out of the job so that clients can eventually maintain happiness and fulfilment without her.
