People seek therapy for many different reasons. Some people seek therapy for difficulties that started in childhood. Other people seek therapy, to cope with life stressors, relationship challenges, adjusting to new situations, grief or loss, feeling anxious, family conflict, or feeling “stuck.” Life is not always easy, but together we can determine ways to overcome the obstacles. I work to provide a safe haven to explore your past and current struggles. I strive to help you achieve your goals in a nonjudgement safe space.
I have been told I am an old soul and empathic. I enjoy working with a variety of individuals including but not limited to individuals with non-traditional relationships (I.e.
poly/open), alternative sexuality (I.e. kink/fetish), communication challenges, family and relationship dynamics, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. I practice a variety of evidence-based approaches, some of which are cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution focused therapy, sex positive therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
I am a Midwestern girl, who has lived in St. Louis and Chicago. I have worked in a variety of settings, with individuals with developmental disabilities, children with visual impairments, with aging adults, in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and with individuals in a psychiatric crisis within an emergency department setting. I have now been living in Austin for over two years with my dog, Ozzy, and we enjoy the outdoors as well as hanging out and watching a good tv series.
