Are you looking for someone who will be with you every step of the way toward relief from anxiety and depression? Do you want to improve your self-esteem, and is your goal to thrive? (And are you a huge nerd?) I may be a good fit! The nuts and bolts of it is—as a therapist, I strive to build strong therapeutic relationships with my clients so they can practice relaxing into their most authentic selves. I work with children 5+, adolescents, adults 18+, and couples, with a focus on LGBTQIA2+ individuals, creatives, and/or those who identify as neurodiverse.
I enjoy working under the philosophy of radical self-acceptance. I use a blend of somatic experiencing, attachment theory-focused, trauma-informed, relational therapy with IFS and ACT sprinkled in to help identify our inner parts and values and sit in community with them. I utilize narrative and existential therapy to help clients formulate a sense of self that feels true to their core. I also facilitate practicing mindfulness-based CBT and DBT with clients to help them learn skills to ease the process of moving through processing their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
A little about me: I’m Kelsey, a chronically ill, AuDHD, bisexual, nonbinary/genderfluid writer, artist, gamer, and social worker. I’m a native Texan. In my spare time, I play with yarn, play video games, and roller skate. I am working on a novel, and planning for my next tattoo. I have a tiny animal familiar by way of a chihuahua-mix named Pierre. I use they/them pronouns.
I have extensive experience working with grief & loss, chronic illness, medical trauma, and caregiver burnout. In addition to being a psychotherapist, I also work as a medical social worker.
I offer free 15-minute consultations to see if we’re a good fit. I hope to hear from you! (You are brave!)
