We all have an inner wisdom to heal. A reed, much like the story of the lotus flower, begins within murky environments and grows toward the sun through strength and flexibility to weather the storms. My intention within sessions is to build a safe, supported space to attune to any needs/wants you have in your current journey.
I welcome children, adolescents, adults, elders and couples. I am passionate about cultivating a collaborative, trauma informed and safe therapeutic space that is culturally responsive and attuned to your needs in this current journey. I use a person-centered, humanistic approach to explore experiences of oppression and ancestral trauma. I integrate healing modalities that include mind, body and spiritual practices per your preference such as mindfulness, somatic experiencing and EMDR. I further attune to your needs through my training ininternal family systems (IFS), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for psychosis, emotionally focused individual therapy (EFIT) as well as play therapy techniques for children.
I obtained my Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) from the University of Texas at San
Antonio Department of Social Workand currently under Clinical Supervision, supervised by Kimberly Goodwin, LCSW-S. For the past 10+ years, I have been working with people to heal personal trauma –the kind of trauma that leads to isolation, depression, anxiety, psychosis and addiction. I have experience working with individuals who are BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, sexual abuse survivors, disabled and cope with chronic illnesses.
In my free time, I enjoy nature walks with my boxer/lab named Dean, participating in collective community events, exploring embodied movement through different dance practices, and deepening my own holistic approach to life.
I look forward to starting your therapy journey with you!
